Cute Product of the Week

These super cute things are found over at my fantastic toys, which describes itself as a blog, toy shop and cute tutes.  I love everything, its hard not to, as everything has polka dots!
I will let the pics speak for themselves, as words just don't sum up their cuteness enough.  Lots of craft tutorials, handmade toys and free printable crafts. The only thing is the store is located in the USA which brings about a bit of a sad face but on the plus side a lot of these are printable PDF patterns where you pay online and they send online so that's definitely a happy face.

Thrifty Tuesday

I love those 'why didn't I think of that' moments.  When the simplest idea totally blows your mind, like these upcycled muffin/ cupcake carriers.

Feb 22nd - 2 years on....

I was going to write a post about Feb 22nd and what it means to me today.  But I'm not sure how I feel about it all really and I'm not sure I want to write about something I haven't quite figured out yet.  I keep writing words but they don't sum it up enough for me, so the best thing is not to say anything and just let it be. Just let it be a day to remember.

Blog of the week - Imagine our Life

This is one of my favourite blog finds of all time, a blog brimming with creative ideas, inspiration and enough projects to keep me busy for the next wee while.  I came across Stephanie's (one super talented lady) blog when doing research for Lily's Quiet book.  And I got lost and came out 2 hours later and it was a bit like what happened?  Where did everyone go?  Why are the lights off?  Did everyone go to bed?  I'm sure you have all been there when reading blogs, I make sure I bookmark ones that I want to go back to later and when I have free time (seriously who am I kidding) then I go back and have a good read with the lights on.  Hope you love this blog as much as I do.

My favourites from Imagine our Life are:

The Sock Matching Quiet Book Page

Felt Valentine Play Set
Seriously too cute for words!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Felt Board

But wait there's more..........

Put it all together......

Happy Reading x

Happy 1st Birthday

Image via here

Well its been a year since I started the blog and it has been an interesting journey.  I had big plans to blog every day.  Then it turned into maybe once a week.  Then life took over and reality set in.  I had lots of ideas.  Then writers block came.  Then I decided to get crafty and upcycle the baby food jars. Then I got a new job which I fell in love with.  Then the blog got a bit lost in the craziness of a new job, a writing course, a one year old, markets and the pressures of being a Mum and Wife.  Then I remembered I had a blog.  Then life got into a better routine and everything started to click into place.  Then I started writing again and fell in love.  And here we are a year later.  Thanks for being here reading my thoughts about all things just a little bit cute.  It means the world to me.

Happy NZ Day

Waitangi Day or as I like to celebrate it, NZ Day, is a great day to celebrate all things kiwi. From Fantails to Eskimos, I have been searching the web and found some of our cutest icons whether retro, revamped or original.  Links below each photo will take you to the source.

Choc Fish Magnets, Lolly Mixture, Eskimo Magnets
For the lolly lover there are the classic choc fish magnets, eskimo magnets or lolly mixture like we used to get at the dairy.

Chelsea Sweet Cushion, Kiwi Icon cards, Keep Cool card
Keep Cool til After School is a flashback to a childhood of afternoons filled with Olly Olsen.
Pohutukawa Cottage, Sunday Drive, Kiwi Bach
I love the Kiwi Bach print and although we didn't have a Kingswood we often took Sunday drives in the family Falcon wagon to the beach.  I wasn't a fan of the gravel roads back in those days but nothing sticking my head out the window didn't fix - although a mouthful of dust kept me pretty quiet!

NZ Icons Bus Blind, Kiwi Pavlova Canvas, Jandals Print
I have always been a fan of the bus blind prints which are proving very popular these days, so a great alternative is the Jandal print.

Stamp Cushion, Stamp Heart, Stamp Pendant
The vintage kiwi stamps are great colours and look great in whatever form they take, whether it be a cushion, print or pendant.

I would love to hear what your favourite kiwi things are, please comment below and share the kiwiana love.
